A Traveler Mr Ben Yang Yiwan Point of View about PAKISTAN

My journey in Pakistan has come to an end. During this journey, I’ve left my footprints on historical roads that are hundreds to thousands of years old, I’ve been awed by mountain ranges trusted as high as 8,000+m above sea level into the sky by tectonic plate collision, I’ve hiked through valleys carved by glaciers and rivers for millions of years. I’ve also received hospitality from people rich in their most traditional culture, almost unchanged by modernization, people with the warmest heart in the coldest of places.

WHAT TO VISIT IN PAKISTAN?

Old Silk Route (Famous Trip /Activities)

The Old Silk Route known as Modern Karakorum Highway (N-35) is 1300kms starting from HassanAbdal near Islamabad, the Capital city of Pakistan goes all the way through Karakorum and Himalayas mountain ranges sharing a border with China at one of the World's highest mountain pass "Khunjarab Pass" in Hunza Valley and entering into China, where it becomes China National Highway 314, end in the region of Xinjiang- China. The highway connects the Pakistani provinces of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa plus the region of Gilgit Baltistan with Xinjiang-China.

The highway although is famous as the Old Silk Route and Eighth Wonder of the World passing through the World's highest mountain ranges connecting two countries. Apart from that, the highway has several breathtaking sceneries along with beautiful tourist destinations including the valleys, lakes, treks, glaciers, and above 8 & 7 thousand peaks including the famous Nanga Parbat-8126m, Rakaposhi-7788m, Passsu, and Batura Peaks. The Indus river flowing along with the highway increments in the beauty which passes all the way from Khunjarab to Besham-the city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

In valleys, the famously known among the tourists are Hunza and Nagar which are top-rated destinations in the northern part of Pakistan. Hunza Valley also shares a border with China. Hunza and Nagar Valleys offer sightseeings, culture and history, traditional food and music, and many adventure and trekking spots.

Nagar Valley is the gateway to Rakaposhi Peak -7788m, although there are other several peaks, short treks, high alpine lakes, meadows, and mountain passes including Spantik (Golden Peak). Diran Peak, Dastagir Sar, Lush Lake and etc.

Hunza is home to several peaks, short treks, lakes, meadows, and mountain passes like Lady Finger, Ulter Peak, Shisper Peak & Sar, Passu Peak, Patundus Trek, Batura Peak, Attabad Lake, Borieth Lake, and etc.

There are many things that can not be explained in words though. I suggest you plan your trip through Karakorum highway once. We have a special trip named "Overland to/from China to/from Pakistan" designed to experience the beauty of the Karakorum Highway (The Old Silk Route).
