For the love of Hunza's cherry blossoms

Japanese Guest Enjoying Blossoms in Hunza Valley

The climate in Karachi changes so drastically that there has been no spring season to relish in the last 10 years. Let alone the cherry blossom season.

The arrival of the cherry blossom is keenly anticipated. Upon hearing where and when the fabled flowers will appear, I decided to be there this time around.

Cherry blossoms start blooming earlier in Karimabad, Hunza than other regions and unfortunately, I missed the peak as the blossoms start falling in about one week after the peak bloom.

While it is nice to simply appreciate the transient beauty of the blossoms at the places known for blooming cherry blossom trees, the time to enjoy it needs to be accurate. I eventually found the apricot flowers in Upper Hunza in a town
